Condo conversion in Pacifica? never thought I'd see that. Great! Now let's find someone to build some new apartments.

Doesn't allowing such a "conversion" actually work against Pacifica's State ordered mandate to provide a specified number of "affordable" housing units?

Seems like such approval would be like shooting yourself in the foo; just a really, really bad idea.

Anon 6:14, you make no sense. The project was originally built as a condo project and due to an economic downturn, they were converted to rental units. Now they are returning to the market. These will be affordable units, within reach of a lot of our young teachers and other first time buyers.

Well Donald Trump, you must have some inside knowledge or other interest in this project. The City Planning Agenda only refers to "conversion of 170 existing apartment units into individually owned condominiums." I do see mention of a tentative condo map dating back to 2008, but nothing that would indicate whether they were originally built as condominiums. How would I know that if the information wasn't made available?

When I was a 15yrs old, 1974, I lived in those Gateway Apts. I remember some people owned their apts or something like that. It used to be a nice place to live. Not anymore. Riddled with criminals. Time to boot them out.
