What Peninsula city/county councils are doing this week, 12/10/12

Monday -  San Carlos. "From 7 PM.  The San Carlos City Council will hold a public hearing possible increases to solid waste collection rates. City staff recommends a 9 percent increase for 20 and 32 gallons and no increase for 64 and 96 gallons plus a $2 or $3 surchange per month on the smaller containers. If approved, the rates become effective Jan. 1."  The Daily Journal (San Mateo), City government, 12/8/12.  "Government Watch."

Climbing the wire is routine progress

5 PM - 7 PM.  The council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the Transit Village environmental impact report at a special meeting that begins at 5 p.m. and continue the hearing at its regular 7 p.m. meeting, then possibly vote on the report.   Mercury News/Peninsula, 12/8/12, "On the Docket."

Monday - Palo Alto.  "The city council is scheduled to consider extending for one year an interim urgency ordinance establishing a moratorium on a parking exemption in the municipal code for the downtown and California Avenue areas.  Mercury News/Peninsula, 12/8/12, "On the Docket." 

Tuesday - San Mateo County.  "The board is scheduled to consider retaining John Maltbie as county manager for up to $300,000 a year.  Mercury News/Peninsula, 12/8/12, "On the Docket."
